Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, was today presented with the Special Recognition Award by the Institute of Strategic and Development Communication (ISDEVCOM) at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

 

The Chairman of National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, was today presented with the Special Recognition Award by the Institute of Strategic and Development Communication (ISDEVCOM) at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

The award is in appreciation of his unique contributions to the generation of reliable data for national planning, good governance and inclusive development in Nigeria. 

Hon. Kwarra received the award at the 4th International Conference on Communication and Development in Africa organized by the Institute of Strategic and Development Communication of Nasarawa State University, Keffi with the theme ‘Change Management and Data-driven Strategic Engagement for Development. He also delivered a keynote speech titled ‘Strategies for the conduct of the 2023 Population and Housing Census’.

The event had in attendance the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Emmanuel Akabe; Director-General of National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz; Statistician-General of the Federation/CEO of Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Prince Adeyemi Semiu Adeniran; Aguma of Bassa Turunku Chiefdom, HRH Dr. David Wodi Tukura among other notable personalities. 

The NPC Chairman was accompanied by the Director Census Department, Mrs. Evelyn Arinola Olanipekun, Census Manager, Dr. Inuwa Bakari Jalingo, SA to the Chairman, Isiyaku Alhaji Husaini and other support staff of the Commission.
