Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in the South-West, on Friday, cautioned presidential aspirants from the zone to guard against their utterances.


It was gathered that the meeting, which was held behind closed doors at the Lagos House, Marina, also resolved that name calling and other personal attacks should not be encouraged by the aspirants and their supporters.


It was learnt that the aspirants were asked to work with whomever among them emerges as the party’s candidate for the presidential election.

Following his recent declaration to contest the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar met with delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State on Friday to seek their support.


Amid cheers and chants of solidarity, Atiku addressed the party faithful, including present and former Lagos State PDP Chairmen, Local Government Area Chairmen, Youth Leaders, and members of the State Working Committee. While reiterating his promise of 40% youth and women representation in his cabinet, the former Vice President expressed his desire to restore a sense of belonging to marginalized Nigerians.

Another Building Collapses In Lagos

A two-storey building in the Ago Palace Way area of Lagos State, collapsed on Saturday.


The building is on Chris Igadi street off Ago Palace way opposite Kilimanjaro/ AP filling station.


The incident happened days after eight persons died when a three-story building at Ibadan street in Ebute Metta collapsed.


Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the head of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed in a statement on Saturday that no casualty was recorded.


Matawalle Commiserates With Victims In Zamfara

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has called for special prayers that would restore peace in the state.


Matawalle said his administration was doing all it could to end the banditry activities in the state.


The governor said this when he visited victims of banditry attacks in Mada and Magazu communities of the state.
