Important update from inec regarding elections matters
The Technical Workshop for Electoral Officers, Assistant Electoral Officers (Operations) and Heads of Departments, Legal on "Effective Management of Key Electoral Processes and Activities" commenced today Monday 13th September, 2023 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State and Lokoja, Kogi State.
The objective of the training is to get participants up to date with the Initiatives and Innovations introduced by the Commission into the Electoral process and to ensure they master the skills and processes necessary for effective and efficient conduct of elections.
The five-day training is in preparation for the Bayelsa and Kogi Governorship Elections scheduled for November 11th 2023.
The Hon. National Commissioner and Chairman, Board of Electoral Institute (BEI) Professor Abdullahi Zuru in his opening address in Yenagoa urged all participants to make good use of this training to learn all processes, innovations and use the knowledge to ensure free, fair, credible and inclusive elections.
In his welcome remarks, the Director General of the Electoral Institute, Dr. Sa'ad Umar Idris thanked the Honorable Chairman of the Commission, the Chair, Board of The Electoral Institute (BEI) and the entire Commission members for approving this training. He also appreciated the RECs of Bayelsa and Kogi for their support and cooperation while reminding participants that they are a critical component of the electoral process and should utilise this training to ensure a successful outing in the Governorship elections coming up on 11th November, 2023.
Meanwhile, the Training of EOs/AEOs (EOPs) for IMO STATE comes up 25th-29th Sept, 2023.
